My baby has severe acne?

My 8 month old son has the worse case of acne his doctor has ever seen. His doctor compares it to adult acne. He has huge ***** white heads and blackheads too. He is also strictly breastfed. Has anyone ever heard of this?

My baby has severe acne?
This is totally normal, it happens at different times for different babies. It could be caused by something you are eating that is getting through the milk, or it could just be baby acne. Luckily since you are breastfeeding you have natures medicine cabinet at your hand- breastmilk! It works wonders for baby acne. Just put some on a cotton ball and dab on a couple times a day.

Breastmilk is sterile and antiseptic. It can be used for many things including diaper rash and scrapes. The source listed below is a great article about the many healing uses of breastmilk.
Reply:Please go see the doctor, if not take him immediatly to the hospital it may be something worse than acne
Reply:I've heard of that in brand new babies. Just keep his face clean and don't pick at the blemishes.
Reply:I recommend ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist.
Reply:IS the baby fair skin? are you fair skin? my brother had this he was fair skinned. IF baby is breast fed watch what you eat. what ever you eat the baby eats.
Reply:If you took him to the doctor then the doctor should have given him something for it.

Try seeing a skin doctor
Reply:u think it's bad now just wait until he grows up. but maybe he has it because u never clean his face. u should clean it more often.
Reply:A baby that is 8 months old needs more nutrients than strictly breastmilk. If you are giving him food, it could be an allergy. Otherwise, it is just your hormones in his body(from childbirth or from breastmilk). Try washing his face with Baby Phisoderm.
Reply:Yes, my youngest had acne as an infant. I think it was from the hormones in the breastmilk.
Reply:still breast fed? maybe time to take him off of that! um, my daughter had acne, but not as bad as ur proclaiming. i am sorry about that, maybe there is medication out there. best of luck!
Reply:My son had that and was also completely breastfed. It finally cleared up on its own. He still has scars on his face from it though so don't pick at the pustules. He had some so big that I couldn't help myself but he did scar. I tried all kinds of ointments from the doctor that did not help, only time took care of it. My son did not have bad acne when he was a teenager.
Reply:I have seen kids with acne before and i was told it was because the mother ate too much spicy foods during their pregnancy or because of the heat that made them sweat and the mother didn't care to give it a bath(babies don't stink but i guess their skin is too delicate) and most of the time if you just breast feed it do you watch what you eat? what you eat through your breasts you give too your baby. try eating more healthier. that weird that the doctor couldn't give you a specified reason.
Reply:Johnson's baby bath bar. Costs under $2 %26amp; can be found in the baby aisle at Walmart/Kmart/Target stores.

Wash his face with the soap every night, and dry it well. Don't put on anything after that.

Try this for a week. If it doesn't work, consult a dermatologist.

But breastfeeding has nothing to do with baby acne.
Reply:Have you tried wiping his face with a dry clean diaper a few times a day? Sounds crazy but it helps
